The S&T Store Verba Collect System

All instructors with courses assigned for the upcoming semester in PeopleSoft will be emailed a personalized link to access  the Verba Collect site.  Once you access the site, you will be prompted through the process of submitting adoptions for your assigned courses.

Walk-through for Professors

You should receive an email from The S&T store that includes your personalized link to adopt the materials for your assigned courses. If you don’t receive that link or don’t see all your courses listed, please contact David Wilson at wilsonge@mst.edu.

Once Verba Collect requisitions are submitted and approved, they download into our store inventory management system for us to review and make adjustments if necessary.

Open Educational Resources (OER), Open Access Content

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that are freely available online for everyone to use, whether you are an instructor, student or self-learner. Examples of OER include: full courses, course modules, syllabi, lectures, homework assignments, quizzes, lab and classroom activities, pedagogical materials, games, simulations, and many more resources contained in digital media collections from around the world.
From OpenEducationalResources.pbworks.com

Many instructors are using OER and Open Access Content to replace or supplement their existing course materials. There are many websites dedicated to providing OER and Open Access Content, our campus library is also a great place to begin any OER search. (Please Note: the copyright license or parameters of use differ with each item. Be sure to check the usage guidelines for the product you are interested in to make sure that you understand how you may use it.)

If you want to provide your students options, you can work with S&T Publishing to offer these materials as Print on Demand.
If you have questions about OER and Open Access Content please do not hesitate to contact us gallardom@mst.edu

OER at the Library

The Library has information and systems in place that faculty can use to make course materials including some textbooks freely shareable for students.

Visit the Library's OER page for details.

S&T Publishing

What’s your teaching style?
Do you use readings from several sources in order to fully teach a subject? Do you use only selected chapters out of books? Do you use PowerPoint slides or study sheets? What about homework assignments? Add your syllabus and lecture notes to make it fully functional. With S&T Publishing, you can compile your own course book(s) to fit YOUR teaching style.

S&T Publishing will work with you to create your custom course reader/packet and ensure that it is copyright compliant. Whether it is an Out of Print book, old exams or a selection of readings from journals/books/online sources – S&T Publishing can assist you in creating a custom book that suits your teaching style and meets the needs of your students.

With a focus on saving students money, we work with you to create a custom reader that truly is Your Concept. Created.

In 2014, we launched AutoAccess, a partnership with The S&T Store, publishers and faculty that provides course content via the campus learning management system (LMS) at a reduced cost. Pilot programs were launched in Fall 2014 with McGraw-Hill and Campus e-Bookstore, Inc. Since then, we have added Pearson, Cengage, and VitalSource to continue to grow and expand AutoAccess. Students enrolled in these programs saved $10,000.00 (compared to new prices) since the program began.
